ABOUT

For many Americans, rising prescription drug prices are taking a toll not only on their wallets, but also their health. As patients struggle to afford out-of-pocket costs and premiums, leaders in Washington and more than 20 states are moving forward to put policy solutions in place.

From increasing access to generic drugs and promoting transparency to allowing the government to negotiate lower drug prices, there are several plans under consideration. What bipartisan efforts hold the greatest promise? At the same time, what steps can stakeholders take to reduce the burden on patients?

The Hill will convene key policymakers and administration officials for a series of conversations to examine how drug prices can be reduced for patients while ensuring they have access to lifesaving medications.
